IMO This is an inhouse "if" and "may" mind experiment posed by Atheists. As a Theist, it's obvious to me that it can not be. When we look at anything in the Universe we are looking at that which made the looking and has always seen and thus reality has always been and has always existed. As for a metaphysical assumption appearing on a science sight? (pun intended) Science has at this point has very little it can say on consciousness at all. I have no problem with Science as long as it is sound..ahh 'sound' "In the beginning was the Word"... "I think therefore I am" ...

It's hard to get things done if your body's numb. In the Lords Prayer, give us this day our bread is sandwiched between Thy Kingdom come and for Thine is The Kingdom. How we live is integral,, essential and indispensable . We/Us -plural! I am my brothers keeper. The temptation is to live from another source (I)

"...I've gotten used to the go slow story
The last three months at Makorori
Having my existence paid by the normal job slaves
Racing to work like they're racing to their graves
So many hate to do it so they do it anyway
I am respectable I'm working for my pay
But they never will be happy living out their lives
If the job is a fake mate if their happiness is lies..."

Billy Williams I remember you and I in a car (probably a Holden, driving high along Lysner St I think- must have been coming from PJ's) Anyway... I said " Tear up the concrete, give back the bush, go back to nature, give progress the push" and you responded with "We can't do that, I work at Aitkens Concrete and I wouldn't have a job!" I LOVE that your making pots.

Anthony Robinson ""It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way-" I remember when I walked out of childhood and out of this place the song "keep on walking 'Don't Look Back' " was sounding in my head. Funny thing is I returned, I moved back 6 years ago and am currently packing to leave again, and the song is resounding. My realisation being, that as much as I love nostalgia, you can't live in the past, but it lives in you. Another funny thing is that I'm going to Wellington which reminds me of the pic in your post and am reading 1984 for the first time. I hope I can cope (lol in a maniacal way)
